I think it's so weird that everyone finds Ruby to be the annoying one when Aqua (who's much older) is the frustrating one here?? Like the whole idea if him stopping Ruby and ruining her chances to be an idol is just dumb it doesn't make sense in the grand scheme of things. He can always protect her and watch out for her while still being supportive. Why is everyone else focusing on Ruby being 'annoying' (which she isn't, she's literally just energetic) and not his stupid ass plan. Like besides that I think he's an okay character, but like bro.

Yeah man, also thought of that too… i think aqua makes the series more of a drag if he continues to be a man with his delusional prodigy, it makes things worst

Aqua doesn't mind Ruby being an Idol. He just doesnt want her to join a shady group or sign a contract with some shady person. The whole reason, he went as a scout and interviewed an Underground Idol was to get (and give) an idea of how poor the idols are treated as individuals.
That part, where he was stopping her from being an idol, ended along in episode 2, when Ruby signed a Contract with Miyako for Ichigo Production. He has been very supportive of Ruby to follow her dreams, he is just making some sound decisions for her, in her stead since she is naive and doesn't understand the way, the industry works.

That part definitely makes sense, but it seems like he just doesn't want her to be an idol at all. He could simply help her by making sure the companies she's with are fine, not just ruining her chances regardless

Ruining her chance to be an idol???? wtf i mean he doesn't want her to end up as Ai but he never said that he'll stop her from becoming an idol, he has a condition , he just wants her to be safe but Ruby is just too much drawn to her emotions it's just so fu-cking annoying for me at least, even when she wants to get revenge she became more cringe, she can't do anything without someone guiding her, anyway aqua is not interfering with anything her being idol he is fine with what she is doing.

Aqua in my opinion is just another Shonen smart MC. The side characters are much more interesting than him.

You realize this is a Seinen series right? Plus it's completely different from smart Shonen protagonists as this is literally a college graduated doctor brain inside that teenager with a producer giving him more insight on the industry that Ruby doesn't.

I think Aqua became the new edgelord, like Light and Lelouch.

Well dude I kinda agree when I saw the episode where Aqua just doesn’t want Ruby to be an idol he was being gn too protective I think that’s what the mangaka wanted us to understand…. But atleast in the end she did get one right?

I think it also has to do with the trauma he endured. Might just be a superstitious thing but if someone passed away because of the industry they were in it would make sense that you wouldn’t want to put someone else you care about in that same industry because you’re afraid it could happen again

Why are people comparing Aqua to unplausibly smart protagonists of other series? Or megalomaniacs who never hesitate about using other people as tools?
He's just an above average intelligent adult who already has some life experience stuck in the body of a teenager.

OT: Is the OP and anyone who thinks like them for real?
Let's see Aqua's first hand experience with the idol industry that Ruby so vehemently wants to join.
First, he finds out his favorite idol got pregnant behind the scenes. And she was underage at the time, let's not forget about that.
Then he got killed by some obsessed fan, all because he was the physician in charge of her.
And then his favorite idol, turned mother now, also got killed. Again, by an obsessed fan. Right in front of him.
Also, the siblings, despite both being reincarnations, are vastly different. Ruby died a teenager with extremely poor health and didn't actually live out her childhood or teen years normally, so despite having lived for some extra years in her new life, is still pretty much an idealistic teen in mind. Aqua is an actual adult who has seen the ugly of the industry both in his past life and the new one.
Of course he'd have some reservations, to say the least, about his new sister joining this industry. Him actually allowing it under some conditions (or him just straight up involving himself behind the scenes) is arguably kind of lenient on his part.

To be fair, if I had a sister and she wanted to join the Japanese idol industry, I, too, would be against the decision with every fiber of my being.
