| This seems to follow the current trend of boy meets girl, but the girl is a little odd school romcoms that are popping up now. However, I gotta say it's a little creepy when the MC is fantasizing about murdering his classmates. Sure he's going to end up being a lovestruck puppy eventually, but the "I wanna murder my classmates is a bit too on the nose. |
| Episode 1 And so it begins, the romantic relationship between a boy who can think about nothing but murdering his fellow classmates, and a girl who is a part-time model. And somehow, these two opposites attract. It's an interesting start here to say the least, but it didn't exactly grab my attention from the start. Anyway, it certainly is setting itself up well for some amusing interactions to happen, starting with that runaway bike and that box cutter in Anna's bag. |
| Oof, some second hand cringe in this one. Poor girl has a psychotic stalker on one hand and an aggressive asshole guy on the other. I went to school with a kid like this. Last I saw him he had moved back with his parents and was wearing an ankle monitor. |
| Oh, this was good. Very good. Had me seriously cracking up at some parts. For those concerned about this guy, he's obviously just a chuuni, but instead of being into fantasy he's into horror. So his alter ego is a psycho who has to fight the urge to kill instead of some grimdark half-demon anti-hero with an evil eye that he has to fight to keep control of etc. etc. I think it's a nice change of pace seeing different type of chuuni instead of the usual. | Episode 2 It's culture festival time, and with Anna's last name on the tombstone that naturally, the students think it was Kyotaro's doing. But nope, that was actually Honoko's doing as she just came up with a common last name at random which just so happens to be Anna's. Perception is everything here, and that can obscure the truth sometimes. |

| Normally I don't care for 'ditzy' anime girls. But they've managed make Yamada a likeable character, even to me. I can so relate to him not realizing he should have bought her the ice cream until after she left. |

| The spontaneity in their interactions is nice, and I like that the protagonist manages to be intrepid in the midst of his ratiocination. But the way the show is presenting things I almost want to say the girl is way creepier than the guy. Maybe it's just that it's pushing the sexual aspects a bit hard for middle school (yes, I know this is anime). It doesn't help that whatever-his-name-is looks like he's 10 while Yamada looks like she's 20. |

Yeah, girls tend to hit the growth spurt first. The official heights here are 5'2 vs 5'8 but Yamada looks like she's 6 foot and 23 years old due to all the short characters around her. I doubt our poor boy here is 90lbs wet though. It's not just height Yamada has on him. His life is in danger. There's a lot of shows where the male lead is only like a quarter inch taller than the female lead. Like technically taller but still wish fulfilling the target audience I guess? |

There was some interest in sex but you didn't just walk up and cheerfully chat with your friends about your wanking habits. Nor do I recall much in the way of "omfg she's so sexy" type conversations. On the other hand there was a couple guys for whom sex become their entire raison d'etre by 15-16 but they grew out of it by 17-18. Still, even with them they didn't just go around sharing wank tips with each other. You just accepted that your friend had a half litre jar of Vaseline (yes, I'm talking about you Matt you freak) on his dresser and asked no questions. This isn't helped by making Yamada look like she's 21 and him like he's 10. I take a lot of medication for the intrusive thoughts. :p |

| I switched to a public school in 10th grade, but before that I went to a private school that had the same middle school grades--7th, 8th, 9th--that they have in Japan. I remember quite a bit of sex talk and a good amount of talk about the girls in our class too. The fact that these kids are all together as one class all day--like my school was--may make a difference too. You can get pretty comfortable around each other and get to know that one group of kids pretty well. Especially if you've been in the same class for multiple years. It also makes being a social outcast--or the fear of becoming one--that much worse. I also remember there was one particular guy that a lot of the girls were into and some of the things he claimed to have done with a couple of the girls in our class. |

You weren't always with the same people in every class then it got even more shaken up in high school (grade 8+) because you started being able to choose some of your classes. Though the school was small enough you kind of knew of everyone in your grade even if you didn't know them personally. My high school actually had a Lovely Complex couple like this. She had a good 5-6 inches on him. They were together from grade 7-12 but broke up at some point in college according to Facebook. They were the same height when they started dating. |
It is true that I have no idea of this, having been homeschooled; and I guess if they're supposed to be 15 maybe it's less of a stretch. I don't think I'd believe the protagonist being 15 though. Thankfully I get by with just one medication, for the OCD. |
