I’m wondering what you think the ideal pacing should be. Should it follow the pacing of the original anime? Should they take it slower? Or faster. Would it be 2-3 chapters an episode?! Or more? I’m just afraid they’ll cram the entire story into 52 episodes.

I think 60 episodes would be the best & the pacing of the Original Anime was great.
So 2x 24 episode Season and a Final 12 Episode One

The Tokyo Arc should get a slightly faster pacing than in the original Anime.
However , the Kyoto Arc was a perfect adaptation , so nothing to say about that.

Guess i'll die then.

But where does this 52 episodes rumor comes from ?
For a faithful adaptation , we'll need around 85 episodes.

The Jinchuu Arc is only slightly shorter than Kyoto's.
12 Episodes is clearly not enough for it.

They could make the First Arc 12 Episode
& After That Kyoto & the Last Arc each 24 episodes

It would be rushed as heck then...

12 Episodes for Tokyo is a little bit hard , but not impossible.
However , 24 for Kyoto... it would be Shin Kyoto-hen all over again , there is no way to adapt it without cutting huge chunk with only this much episodes.

I think something like 15 episodes for Tokyo , 40 for Kyoto & 30 for Jinchuu would be ok.
Need to see if they'll adapt the Tsuioku chapters completely faitfully , or go for a slower pacing/realistic tragedy as the OVAs.

I havent read the Manga, but the Original was 35 episodes & was not paced like modern anime.
So i could see it happen in 24 episodes, with fights beint shorter & less drawn out maybe.
Comparing it to Shin Kyoto Hen is harsh, that was two OVAs and extremly rushed & altered.
110 chapters in 24 episodes is still a huge chunk, it needs 30 atleast. So maybe 72-75 episodes like the Original Anime

Nothing confirmed, it’s just that I’m scared they’ll rush the already covered material to get to the Jinchuu arc. A lot of anime remakes and re-adaptations have really fast pacing. I’m just afraid they’ll pull a Shaman King.

Oh , okay.
For some reasons , you are not the first one i've seen talking about precisely 52 Episodes.

This is gonna be similar to Shaman King Remake.

first 12 or 13 episodes will be Tokyo Arc. Will cover the start of the story till the arrival of Saito which makes a nice cliffhanger

Then from 14 till 25 they squeeze everything leading up to the rengoku confrontation

finally from 26 till 36 they can conclude shishio x kenshin.

37 could mark the epilogue of jupongatana and end with enishi first appearance cliffanger.

then 38 till 62 is basically Jinchuu.

now if we only get 52 episodes, they will have to cram tokyo and kyoto arcs in the first 26 episodes, leaving Jinchuu with the other half.

so basically a close to perfect adaptation will give Jinchuu between 24 and 26 episodes

i think it's doable because they can always stretch episodes by skippinh intros and outros

We don't know yet.
All we know is that it'll reboot the series.

The original Anime was a perfect adaptation of the Kyoto Arc (Episode 28 to 62) , and the OVA sublimated the Tsuioku chapters , so it's always great to watch it tho.

I think 3 chapters to cover one episode is the ideal pacing.

I think Tokyo can be done in one cour (13 episodes), but Kyoto and Jinchu need at the absolute least twice that amount. I mean, the old anime did Kyoto perfectly but they needed 34 episodes to do it, so they better not drop too much below that number in this reboot.

from the pv I get the vibes they're doing it seasonal...
was expecting a full adaptation in one go but whatever.
anyway, it should be 12/13 episodes for tokyo arc.
25/26 for Kyoto and 24/25 for jinchu
