What do you guys think of love polygon in general?

As for Toradora, a big part of this anime was about Taiga's crush on Kitamura. Let's not forget about our dragon boi ryuuji and Kushieda πŸ™ƒ

(I personally find these anime tropes a little bit annoying now.)

I love Romance. I hate Love Polygons.

Some anime under the Theme has comparatively straight forward having love triangles and minor charecters' crushes like Oregairu. But some has really annoying polygons like Toradora, even after 80% of the series everything was so ambiguous and counter-intuitive.

I love romance animes. Love triangles are good atleast for me but toradora took a step to next level by adding love polygon stuff. But i still love this anime.

I’d say, the anime of Toradora was released in 2008, so it wasn’t banal at the time

It's much closer to harem rather than real love polygon. Check toradora vn for eg

I completely agree. Normal romance is soo much nicer.

toradora was stressful af for me. it's not a bad anime but i genuinely couldn't decide who i hate who i like, some characters annoyed me but felt alright in the next scene, it was a rollercoaster. i still finished it but i discovered i hate love polygons, a love triangle is as far as I can go, that too is sometimes alot

Not well executed at all Toradora!; you can't just alter personalities with one or two exchanges between the characters so you reach the specific conclusions you want at all costs when you've been building those distinct personalities since the start of the story.

See Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu or Chihayafuru for love polygons executed brilliantly.

For sure a lot of love polygons are quite terrible or cringy, but I think that some of them are actually good, considering the fact they have a good plot. Toradora, for example is a 10/10 for me, but there are also other love polygons that are actually good. I'd like to mention the "romcom killer" Just Because, really underrated.

I've watched a lot of romance animes and I love Toradora the most. However, it doesn't means that all romance animes are excluded from the Earth surface. Let's be more friendly :)

To me, anything more than a love triangle, is slightly pushing it close to a harem. in certain types of shows of romance genres, obviously we can't expect it to be realistic, and that's okay. But if you're telling me that somehow 5 or more people somehow are all entangled in a love affair, then that's just slightly cringey to me.
