Ending of Darling in the Franxx story

Hello guys !!..I know it is absurd to predict anything..but i can't help it..after seeing PV of Episode 17 I guess death flags are confirmed..It's working heavily like Gurren Lagann..Since the cherry blossoms started I guess that first episode scene that everybody thought will happen at the end of the story will happen beforehand..so my guess is that death is coming for all...I fucking don't like it..I wish it doesn't happen but after seeing everything until know it's like death awaits them in the end..I hope I am fucking wrong.. that marriage kind of scene is similar to Gurren Lagann..why the heck author is so hell-bent on killing 02 or both hiro and 02..if sakura blossoms scene happens before 24th episode ..death is confirmed ..as the director himself said he wants to end the story with hiro and 02...God please no!!

but didn't it happened at the end of the PV when they were leaning at each other with their heads and the candle burned out.
