| It's as the title says, I'm planning to write a fanfiction that's retelling of a game. The game I'm specifically talking about is Tales of Zestiria, a JRPG that I'm still playing and loving all at the same time. :) It's going to have some major changes such as Sorey being a girl and Mikleo/Female!Sorey being an established pairing from the start of the game. No offence to anyone, but I like the pairing and genderbending as well for the fun and creativity. Aside from that, the thing is, how does one do a retelling of a game? And a JRPG for that matter. I haven't really done this sort of thing before so it's interesting to try. Does anyone know how to do it? I wouldn't mind having some good advice. Because, when I read these kind of fanfiction, genderbending or not, I just get curious at how they managed to get it so well-done. Of course, the fanfiction itself isn't gonna happen for a while until sometime after I finished the game and whatnot. Update: I'm aware most people on here aren't fanfiction writers, I thought I just try other sources than sticking to Fanfiction.net the whole time for help. |

| There is one game retell fanfict that i like, the title is Scarlet. Its a Yggdra Union fanfict told from the antagonists perspective, same story and character. You can also do multiple POV, original character and story(to fill the game's plotholes) or even unchronological storytelling to add mysteries. |

That's okay. Like I said, I'm aware that most people like yourself aren't. Yes, I'm a longtime Fanfiction.net user and have been on that particular forum a couple of times already. While some of it's useful and pretty informative, one of the things I can't stand about it is that some users on there won't stop nagging you for more original content than a nearly complete retelling of a particular media in a fanfiction. Thanks for the offer though. That's interesting. I never really thought of that. I might have a snoop around on MAL and see if there is any clubs related to fanfiction support. Then maybe I can repost this topic on there since I didn't know where to put it at first. If the Mods will allow that of course. Yeah, along with genderbending I'm adding maybe an original character or two to the fanfic and more detailed storytelling. I've tried doing multiple POVs once, but that completely messed up the plot in another fanfic I did a year or so ago. Not doing that again anytime soon. But I'll see how I go. |

| I have been on ff for along time, not recently though. but im not really up with the lingo or such..... wht is a game re telling? Maybe its bcoz I havent [layed that game your talking about, but what exactly is game re telling? |

It's part of a JRPG series by Bandai Namco and Zestiria only got released last year. It's not one of the most popular in said series, but I'm liking it nonetheless. |

Except for the fact that the protagonist will be a girl instead, which will add some changes to the story. And since the game is a JRPG, they are known to be long in terms of story. Therefore the fanfiction itself will be rather long too. |
