Wow. Really, just wow. I don't have much to say but "this manga is really wonderful".

I saw the original OVA/movie a while back and really liked it, and not to say anything against the original work (especially since Makoto Shinkai animated the entire thing on his personal Mac (or so I've been told)), but it was limited in the "niceness" of it's artwork. On the otherhand, I absolutely adore the artwork of this manga. The style is lovely, and everything is clean. Just the mechs looked a bit funky here and there. XD;;

I also really loved the embellishments on the original story.Nothing was really changed from the original--only a few things added--and of the things added, nothing seemed random or out of place; it all only helped to convey the overall theme of the story. The pacing was also really nice.

Anything less than a 10/10 is an insult to this manga. D:

(I'm not entirely coherent at the moment, so excuse me if this review is a little on the odd side writing-wise...)

Read this manga awhile back, just forgot about this thread. It was a lot better than I expected and the art was nice as well. I haven't seen the original OVA/movie but I gave this manga a 8/10 = )
