I can't believe they are actually making an Air Bender movie.

I'm actually kinda looking forward to that. I loved the TV series.

lol, I've never seen the TV series, but I'm interested. Hopefully it doesn't have M Night's signature twist and is actually decent, unlike his last couple movies.

Yeah, I hear ya on that. I'm actually very surprised that M Night is doing it. Doesn't seem like his type of movie...

I think Jude Law would be the last actor I'd pick for the Watson role, but Downey definitely makes it worth a try.

I'm very excited that Disney's going back to traditional animation, but I also think it took them a little too long to have a black princess.

I love how Zombieland's narrator is the same narrator that was used in the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Does anybody here know what his name is? He's got the perfect voice for narrating comedies in my opinion.

Kick-Ass looks absolutely retarded. I love over-the-top, absurd action comedies (I thought Crank 2 was a masterpiece in that sense) as much as anyone, but that is downright idiotic.

The "Robin Hood" trailer could either be an example of a poor cut, or the film honestly being that bad. "Prince of Persia"'s trailer, however, makes it look like a masterpiece. I mean, I though Prince of Persia might have some cool action scenes, if nothing else, but I couldn't finish watching the trailer, it was that bad.

Anyways, speaking of horrible ideas for a movie, it's hard to top this;

Having read most of the comic Kick-Ass, I must say it could make an entertaining film. That is if they stay true to the source material.

I've seen the Inception trailer before, and it looks pretty cool. I think making trailers is an art most people in Hollywood fail at, so the fact that it caught my eye is fairly unusual.

@YoungVagabond:

It might help you to know that Kick-Ass is actually based on a comic of the same name, and I have to tell you, it is absolutely mind-blowing. For me it changed the genre almost as much as reading The Dark Knight Returns and The Watchmen. It's a very good read and so long as they stick with it, the movie is going to be damn good, think Zombieland for superheroes instead of zombies. By the way, if you want to read the comic, they just released it in graphic novel format so you don't have to go around hunting the individual issues like I did.

Since I wrote my post above a month ago, I've read the first six chapters of the comic.

It's nothing special.

At its best, it's a decent, fun action comic with crappy art. At its worst, it tries to mix realism (someone trying to become a superhero for the pussy, and getting beat up) with absurd fantasy (an 11 year old girl mowing through dozens of mob henchmen) in a manner that is downright moronic.

If I were to rate comic books that spawned movie adaptations, Watchmen would be a 9/10, 300 would be 8/10, and Kick-Ass would be a generous 6/10.

At no point that I was reading it did I think to myself, "damn, I really wish this were a movie." Financially, I also think the movie will be a bomb.

The upcoming "Defendor" will be a far superior superhero parody in every way.

Defendor is actually already running the festival circuit, you can see it in the upcoming SXSW festival I believe, if not there then it will be playing at several of this summers Fantastic Fests. I have to say that I'm not nearly as interested in it as Kick-Ass, the trailer for it didn't really do anything for me, however, I've heard some really good things about it so we'll see.
