| Can an anime based of a game be good? Considering a set storyline, giving less creativity to the anime, the fact that everyone who watches the anime will directly relate it to the game, and... has there ever been a good anime based off a game? I'm watching it all, good or bad :) |

| Only one i've seen is Tales of the Abyss. I didn't care much for it. Felt like I was watching a game rather than an anime. May as well play it IMO~~ |

| Just watched the end of Tales of the Abyss (also watched as much of Tales of Symphonia that's aired so far), and started on Valkyria Chronicles earlier today. In my humble opinion, anime based on games can be quite good. Also there're the visual novels, standing behind quite a huge bunch of good anime too you know : D |

| Well this movie is more of a backstory than a direct adaptation of the game. So the animators do have some creativity in the process. |
| This is a prequel, so it should be better than they way they animated the other Tales game by sticking directly with the story from the game. |

| Being a prequel to the game and all, it does not have much limitation (other then that it has to end in a way the game can start off). I personally am looking forward to watching this from a perspective of it being an anime, and not as a prequel to a game. |

| I'd really want to see something based off a game's universe. Say for example, we have FF XII and FF Tactic's world which is Ivalice, it'd be nice if an Anime is based off that universe but not limited to the characters in those games. |

I would most certainly watch that. Because I liked FFXII and FFXII: Revenant Wings. No idea what they would do with the storyline tho, and they should make a CGI version of it. like what they did with Advent Children. |

| i think that because they are doing a prequal it can be saved and has a much better chance of being a good anime for those of us that played and loved the game and for those whom have not. it might suck but whatever i'll still watch it out of love for the game. |

| I'm just a big visual novel fan but have also watched quite a bit of anime and played a bunch of games. Avatar is Mashiro from Making*Lovers and Kotori from Rewrite. |

| From what I've seen, 1/2 of anime's from games SUCK. The other 1/2 are fairly good. So...hit or miss kind of thing. |
| The can, and they cant. It depends on the game really. I mean if it's a Japanese RPG for example it can be good expecially if it's a anime styled game in the first place. Like the Tales Series have potential to be great animes, if they put time into them and think them over carefully. Like Abyss was good but it could have been better ¬_¬ since they made Luke a complete useless idiot and he was my favourite character. Eternia wasnt even centered on the plot. Symphonia altered the plot and only had OVA's. And Phantasia was great but it was OVA's and they only showed parts of the story they wanted. |
