No, I meant converters. I know much romanji, but Japanese letters are too hard for me :(

Nice. I only know enough to read them (the romaji), it's too hard to remember if I want to write something ^^

I can speak some Japanese, but I can't write the letters. The Kanji system is just too hard for me.
Than again, even some native Japanese find problems with it. >.>

Understandable, considering there are thousands upon thousands of Kanji.

it's really hard to learn first 200 or 300 kanji, but then you used to it and learning becomes easier
the main thing here is everyday work on them and of course patience
IMHO kanji isn't the most difficult thing in Japanese

pronunciation, i guess, as unlike most of other languages japanese has musical stress
that's why to pronounce something in a right way is really difficult

Kanji is one of these things you require to grow with to become familiar with and comes natrually to you. For a foriegner who never learned Japanese though, it's really hard.

I would've learned Japanese by now if we had some kind of course around here where I live. I doubt I'd find something as convenient as that though.

First I'll gather a group of Chinese hating people. Then we go to Japan, dress up like Japanese government officials, wait for someone Chinese to come to Japan, then throw eggs at him and shout "Get out of our country, you Ming!". If we continue doing that for long enough and hit someone important the Chinese will stop exporting rice to Japan (or start a war).

No rice -> Japanese people die out.

*I'm not gonna do it, this is only theoretical*

Interesting, you seem to have thought this one all the way through. But you've forgotten once minor detail...Japan should be entirely self-sufficient in food production. (just studies this in class last week)

For me it has. If you learn basic Japanese grammar, it's pretty easy to learn a lot of vocabulary from anime, unless they speak too fast :P
Most of my vocabulary I've learned from anime.

The speaking of the Japanese language itself isn't so hard, nor is the concepts of grammar in it. The hard part is actually writing it, especially if its in Kanji >.<

I can watch raw anime and have watched raw anime. I can't carry conversation though. I know some random words too because of some of my friends. (i'm only in middle school btw) I'm going into Japanese classes when I get into high school. It seems a long way off for me. I'm self teaching right now and one of my teachers knows japanese so he is helping me :)
