| I never really thought about it too much, and it's been a while since I've watched it... Perhaps as Rin became the new Guardian, she actually became a real angel, while male guardians are just labeled as "angels", like how Rin explained the origin of the name because they had wings to resemble angels, but they really weren't. Either way, the physical additions weren't the same so I would assume it was something along those lines... | I thought it made sense. I finished it about a month ago. I just didn't pay much attention to the whole 'addiction' thing since I was focused on what they're saying and how they ended it. I guess that Rin has turned into a true angel. I like HawthorneKitty's theory though. |
| Don't look too much into the anime. It was an ending that really showed how the protagonist was very inconsistent. One episode, she would be strong and confident and the next she would be some submissive slave. The ending portrayed as a "caring mother" which is absolutely ridiculous. |

I had the same idea only I didn't know how to explained it.But I say she became more powerful than angels but then Mimi should gone all over her but she didn't,which means something else to me I want more of this show!!Or maybe an OVA. i understand the ending now,Rin is an immortal angel that's why Apos blushed. |

| Oh yeah, I didn't really think much about that. Seeing more Rin x Mimi would've been great.... Although I think Rin had her wings folded by the time Mimi brought Laura's head, which is why her angel side didn't affect Mimi. |

I believe Rin already had enough depth as a character in episodes 1-4 without the writers needing to put her into situations where she's reduced to a whimpering mess for a solid 75 percent of her screentime. Not every character in fiction needs to be incredibly complex, and there are dozens or even hundreds of other anime that I could watch if I wanted multi-faceted characters; anime that do a much better job of portraying these types of characters than Mnemosyne. It is my opinion that Rin's character was almost totally ruined by the choices the writers made with episodes 5 and 6, enough to make me regret even watching the show to begin with, even though I quite enjoyed episodes 1-3.arimakenshin said: Don't look too much into the anime. It made it pretty clear that when she gets completely obliterated, her memories get messed up. After going through the turbine her memories got all screwy, yeah she started coming back, but then got turned to ash, totally obliterating her again. When it briefly shows her first form in feudal times, I think that's her true personality, same with her in the final episode. I think her personality changed due to the hundreds of years of living, fighting, killing, being killed; basically got wiped clear. She might've began remembering things (such as the characters); but that wouldn't exactly bring back all of experiences. So basically, she reverted back to her original self, a version that the show didn't start with; which is likely why some feel there was continuity issues. |
