The anime is basically the same as the manga all the way through.

Basically yeah, but there are some differences. I will not say spoil much but basically the last five chapters of the manga were crammed into the last episode. This caused only some details to skimmed, and some omitted completely. Also genkai dies when she gives her land away in the manga while she's still alive in the anime. You also get to see an extra scene with mukuro and hiei, and kuwabara and yukina. In short, the manga gives more closure than the anime at the very end. Also yusuke come back to human world much sooner in the manga.
