| The only thing I can think of is a manga that just started publishing recently and only has three chapters available in English called, Torikago no Tsugai. Pretty much the same exact of scenerio. People grouped up in a tower of an amusement park. They have to work in pairs, and are collared with chains attaching the two of them together by the neck. If the chains separate, the collar kills them. They can only move forward, so once they choose a direction, they can only follow that direction, going back results in death. Somewhat similar would be Ousama Game. Game played with cell phones. If they don't follow the rules, they die. Sorry, not aware of any anime. |

| Zero Escape sounds like it's similar to Deadman Wonderland. They have to follow the rules or they're killed with the necklaces they're forced to wear. King of Thorn has people waking up in an alien place with only a certain amount of time to figure out what's happening before they die (they even have bracelets to measure the time they have left), but it's not because they're in a game or anything like that. Gosick has an arc that's like the 999 game. *Can't confirm this since I don't have a DS - my last Gameboy was a Color. |

But seriously these games are really great. The story in 999 is about 9 peoples Trapped in a deadly place and they have a Bracelet in their hands which activate the bombs (inside their body) if they violate any rules, The goal is to escape from the place. The whole thing is called The Nonary Game. Of course I played the game, I loved it. But there are more ways to interdependent a game, and I got a similar vibe. |
