| Funnily enough, I found out from the clerk of works today that the bulb didn't blow - rather, it inexplicably broke and shattered. Not that this could have anything to do with the Medicine Seller saying "I will cut it" just before... |

| Not for me personally. It's one of those series that draws me in really quickly, which is odd because I usually feel a bit disconnected when watching series with whacky art style like Mononoke. In fact at the moment, I don't think any of the other series I'm watching to be as immersive and atmospheric as Mononoke, though it could be cos I've seen many of the other shows already. |

| Finally updated all my scores. My ranking would be: Mononoke >> Bebop > NHK=DC=Nodame > Madoka |

| lol this is essentially the same as the Power Rankings, except with the least points being better rather than the first. Nodame > Bebop > NHK >> Mononoke > DC >> Madoka The first 3 are all in the same tier. Nodame gets top position simply because I found I got far more out of re-watching it than any other show, picking up details I'd missed previously and making new connections. Bebop and NHK is really close, the former being better made but the latter being more weirdly wonderful at times. Mononoke wins over DC for being more consistent. Even though DC hogged a lot more points in the Power Levels poll, it's it only got *really* good in the second half, and the ending left me very confused. Madoka was very good, but not quite in the same league as the others due to this year's lineup being too good :D |

| I was just making an observation on the similarity of ranking system to that used by the actual anime power rankings ( http://kevo.dasaku.net/?page_id=2417 ), I'm not talking about the power levels thing that we do which uses a different scoring system. |

| [note: I am very shocked and upset at just how WRONG some of you guys are with your ratings!] THE RESULTS for the first 5 people. (But late entries are welcome!)  So, out of me, Adam, Kajia, Mike and Selina, our consensus is: Cowboy Bebop > Nodame Cantabile > Welcome to the NHK! > Magical Magical Madoka Girl > Dennou Coil > Mononoke I note that we were not unanimous on ANY comparison! (I note that the consensus is the same as my rankings except it places Nodame much higher. Everyone else's rankings were *very* different from the consensus, proving once and for all that I have the best taste.) Actually also note that my method of extracting a 'consensus' is in hindsight, very dodgy (e.g. Bebop > Nodame is reflected in the totals on the bottom and right, but there were actually more votes for Nodame > Bebop). Hmm. Not sure of a better way though. |

| How about this as a better analysis? It's an acyclic directed graph to show which shows we think were better than others. e.g. Nodame is considered better than Bebop because there were 3 votes for that and only two for Bebop better than Nodame.  The main paradox in the graph is that we actually voted that Dennou Coil was roughly equal to Nodame, EVEN THOUGH Dennou Coil was definitely worse than Mononoke, Madoka and Bebop, which were in turn worse than Nodame. There's a similar paradox in the NHK-Mononoke-Dennou triangle too. So ignoring the 'equal to' lines we can get a rough idea that the consensus is Nodame > Bebop > NHK > Madoka = Mononoke > Dennou Coil. |
