| Yep my mom, and dad both know surprisingly they don't care lol though my dad gets embarrassed at times because of my screensaver which has a bunch and I do mean a bunch of hardcore yaoi on it. | My parents don’t know, mostly because they stay out of my stuff (lucky, huh?). I remember that, about a hundred years ago, my dad taped some anime for me. He didn’t know what it was about and he didn't watch it, he just taped it, so I could take a look later if it’s something I like. Turns out it was a bunch of half naked girls jumping around. When I watched it later, he was there, too, and didn't say anything, so I guess he was cool with his daughter watching half porn anime. From there it's not that terribly far to yaoi, so I doubt he'd lecture me about it either. The parents don’t have and problem with the whole hetero/homo issue either. Guess I’m one of the more fortunate people with pretty cool parents. I’m old enough anyway, so they couldn’t stop me from drooling all over my manga anyway ^_^ |

| Yes, they know. But I'm not getting into trouble. At all. When I discovered I liked yaoi very very much, even to the point of loving it, I was pretty shocked myself. But after a while, I accepted it as a part of me, and I was ready to tell my parents about it. I think it's important your parents know it when you, as their child, are watching homo porn. I don't like that term either, actually I hate it, but it's the truth. Two males (if there aren't more o.o) having sex with each other. I told them, and they reacted positive. My mom was very happy I told her, because... yeah... a parent likes to know what his child is doing, right? She was also very proud at me for being able to be so honest to her about something so private. I loved that feeling, and still love it. ^__^ My dad didn't get it, but when he heard those two words of that idiotic term from before ''homo'' and ''porn'' he kinda knew what I was talking about. He didn't say anything about it cuz yeah, he's my father. A male. Fathers usually dislike their childs watching ''homo porn''. =___= In any case, they accepted my feelings about the whole thing... and let me do as much as I wanted to. Including my father. ;3 And then a while ago, when I mentioned the word YAOI they fell still and asked at the same time: ''What's yaoi?'' I was literally SHOCKED. Could not think rationally. Made a mess of my emotions and raced to my room. When I came back they asked me to explain it again, though I was extremely pissed. I told them the short version and said to them that if they didn't like it, they would still have to live with it. In sort of an aggressive way. But it worked! :D Now they finally know the full meaning of it, they even make jokes about it so now and then! My parents accept almost all of it. They don't like me watching/reading/SAYING ''hardcore'', but still accept it. But now I have the sudden urge to tell the story about my friends too. Oh well, let me tell you all. :p At first, when I told them a really soft version of the term YAOI they reacted like I was an idiot. I don't think they knew how their faces went, but I can recall them very good. One of them said: ''Why do you like two boys having sex with each other? It's not normal, is it? I mean, we (including you) haven't had sex before and you're watching that kind of stuff? Well, you have to know it for yourself, but I don't want to see it yet. I'm not that ''grown up'' yet.'' It was Hannah-Hime from here on MAL, btw. But the more I talked about it (sometimes unintentionally, sometimes on purpose) the more they wanted to know. They began asking about terms as ''seme'' and ''uke'' and they (including Hannah) reacted a lot more positive than first. I liked that. Nowadays they know the basics of it, still not wanting to read/watch every day, but some of them really are watching it! Once again I was literally SHOCKED when I saw their list updates! Gakuen Heaven and Bronze may be not that hardcore stuff, but in any case it is Boys Love! And that's not all, they also make jokes about it. Like: ''Ooh you see that man over there and that one over there? Do they match? Who's seme?! Who's uke?!'' And I go with the flow and say my thoughts, while they already picked out some other guys. It's really fun! ^^ They even ask about teachers in my high school who would match. O.o Sometimes they make REAAAAALLLLY scary couples... And I mean scary as in: they decide who are seme and uke... O__O They say I have imagination, they don't. So that I can ''suffer'' with thoughts about that couple they made. XD If you were there you would be laughing your ass off, I tell you. | For my family, yaoi or anime means ordinary cartoons or as my sis. calls them all: hentai T_T, very baka! But my friends do know about my..."hobby"...none of them has said smthg to me about it, but neither i talk w/ them about yaoi, it's true that usually i get the subject boy x boy relationship and discuss it over ^^. |

| Yeah, mom knows but I highly doubt she doesn't really know that yaoi and gay porn are the same thing. I actually showed her my yaoi mangas yesterday while talking about them being only for 18 years and older / mature rated. She then grabbed the yaoi I was holding (Pet On Duty) and started looking at it. Needless to say, in the wrong direction. I had to direct her to the best part. *fufufufu* Well, she wasn't negative about it, only saying "eww" with a joke. She's really okay with it. She has to be. >D As a sidenote: I'm 19 and I still live at my mom's. XD But we have a really open and warm relationship. |
