Mappa's Movie Format in IMAX

Why mappa is releasing its film's in standard formats in imax...?
What's the reason behind this even though they have this Imax ratio like other Tv version of csm . Jjk zero movie also premierd in standard format in IMAX theater, i know the picture quality and the sound system and sound effects are way better than any thetrs!! But stll the picture looks little wired to watch in imax in this standrd format , why release it in the format thts doesn't fit full screen.....?!
Does anyone know why they're doing this...?

live action movies can shoot in imax format and crop it down for standard screens, it doesn't cost them that much extra.
But for anime they would have to draw and animation additional portions that they would need crop anyways.

Weird? In what way? I haven't seen those movies in the theater.

If you're talking about aspect ratios, I highly doubt they did anything major to tweak these movies for the IMAX run.

IMAX is no longer limited to the "IMAX ratio" of 1.43:1 these days. A lot of their IMAX screenings are now just "regular" aspect ratios like 1.85:1 or very close to it. They're just glowing up and selling regular movies as "IMAX," as far as I understand it. I assume that's what they do with animated movies like JJK or Chainsaw Man.

I recently saw a 4K restoration of Princess Mononoke on an "IMAX" screen, and it was in the original 1.85:1 ratio.
