Before we start a discussion on this topic, it is very important to clarify and define what is "Artistic Creation", and what are some examples of Artistic Creations.

According to ScienceDirect, the definition of Artistic Creation is:
Artistic creation refers to the process of producing cultural expressions through various forms such as visual arts, music, literature, and performance. It involves the exploration of creativity, emotions, and ideas, often influenced by social, economic, and political factors.

I personally agree with this definition. It is simple, clear and easy to understand it. Now... maybe I could give examples of contents that fit this description. I could be wrong of my examples. However I want you to do the same by giving us examples of works you believe that are the best you have seen, heard, read.

I could list more examples, but I wanna make it short.

Movie(s): Blade Runner, Silence of the Lambs, Alien (1979)
Music: Michael Jackson
Game(s): Metal Gear Solid 2, Silent Hill 2, Resident Evil, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
Comic(s): One Piece, D.Gray-man, Batman
Book(s): Lord of the Rings... what else?

Through the history of movies creation, books, comics, TV-shows, games, music, plays. Some we like, some we hate. Let us focus on what we hate. How such thing should have been if we were given the choice to fix? Apparently, the most consumed format of media are movies, TV-shows and games. Since these are our hobbies, our interests, some (if not many) movies, TV-shows and games we consume have bad elements in them. From world building, character development, plot-twist, ending, etc.

Perhaps the fandom that suffered the most are Star Wars, MARVEL, DC Comics. Not necessarily these that I mentioned. Name other examples that you see its series has gone down with sequels and seasons. Fallout as a game could be too.

So why I mentioned these examples?

There must be a time when you were sitting, thinking:

"if I was the writer of that movie, I would do this, and remove that"

"I wish I was the director, I would do better than that director"

Which means you have it in you the "Artistic Creation". Which leads me to important questions:

1. Since you have the power of your wild imagination, and as a fan yourself, would you make a bold movement and interfere to save your favorite franchise? If yes, what series you wanna give it its right redemption?
2. If you're gonna let your loved series to die, perhaps you have ideas of your own and you're gonna invest your time and effort to create something better than what you loved?
3. If you don't wanna create, nor save art, could you be saying that art isn't worth preserving for as long as it could? You could be the new inspiration for next generation, so why would you walk away from it? Don't you wanna leave something behind if you left this beautiful yet ugly world that we live in?

These thoughts are (or were) in my head. Dormant. One thing that triggered these thoughts of mine alive in my head, that one thing that triggered me was the Netflix's Devil May Cry. That bastard, Adi Shankar does not deserve to run this franchise. Does not deserve to direct that series. I, ArabianLuffy or any fan of DMC can make DMC million times better than what Adi did.

It's not DMC. Star Wars, MARVEL/DC movies, Fallout, whatever.

I at this point would say that the fans are better running such series the right path better than any writer/director who ruined a sequel or new season or new movie.

Unless we are better off let the old die, and we as consumers become creators, and we create things that surpass what we love.

Or we let our thoughts, our ideas to remain as is. As ideas in our heads. Ideas that will never be realized. Ideas that we will take them with us to our graves. Perhaps because art isn't worth saving?

Express your thoughts. I'm all ears.

This one. Every time I think about wanting to fix a series, I realize the amount of effort it takes to get the legal rights to do so and battling the execs on top of actually writing for the series could be better spent creating original material and not being constrained by whatever bullshit mandates Marvel for instance imposes (e.g. Mickey Rourke putting a disproportionate effort to make Ivan Vanko more sympathetic but having his scenes cut). Instead of writing anime music, I decided I was better off writing general music that indirectly references anime.

Writers and directors don't exist in a vacuum. So many things go bad due to production issues and poor project management such as unrealistic deadlines, bad communication, power tripping bosses and execs, constantly having the script changed on a whim, etc. These will not be solved by having fans be a part of big name franchises, because they will still be under corporate mandates. Even without that consideration, a lot of fan creators lack experience with project management and working as a team, and I frequently see fan projects run into drama or extremely long gaps between new material.

Time...it will not wait...no matter...how hard you hold on...it escapes you...

Everyone has idea. Leveraging time, will, money, visibility and contact is another. For many, art creation is merely a past time or a side hustle; it's just the way of the world.

1. Therefore, no.

2. When a series die, another takes it place. It's not easy to make something (i'm assuming it's a plot) inherently better, and it's very subjective.

3. Some pieces of art have historical significance. There are whole jobs out there specifically tailored to preserving that patrimonial art. Anything younger than a hundred years hasn't stood the test of time to me, even Star Wars. There are other ways than spiritual successor / derivative fan art to preserve art, like making it known & visible, patronage or supporting. There's not really a problem, but I'm not sure there is one anime series I like so much I'm willing to preserve it until my last breath. For now.

I once wrote a very crude fanfiction story based off of Spider-Man with comic panels and everything, I would say it was about the length of a typical comic book of the superhero. If that counts.
