| So I binged the whole season. And crap, it's actually good. I do think binging it is the way to go. If I'd watched it week to week I probably would have gotten frustrated with it like the first season. This season does avoid some of the issues that the first season had. It's more straightforward so you're not wondering what the heck is going on most of the time. Where this really went wrong in the first season is when it tries to bring in all these political machinations when you don't know the first thing about the countries/cities in this world. There's a bit of that in the first few episodes, but not much and you can mostly ignore it at that point. Towards the end of the season there's a good deal of political dealing, though by that time you've been given enough info to have a better understanding of what's going on. If you're like me and thought there were some goods things in the first season amongst all the confusing storytelling then I think you might enjoy this 2nd season. You'll probably want to binge it though. I doubt this will ever get another season, but it's kind of a shame because all the story threads from the first two seasons really pull together by the end of the season. |
