Episode 26 (Finale)
The Moriarty family will stop at nothing to make Ron a criminal, going as far as to have a doctor mess with his brain so that his mind would be taken over if he decides to be a detective. Ron's memories slowly come back as he now remembers seeing his father Eliot murdered in front of his eyes with the falling wine glass the trigger. And then Toto realizes that something didn't add up as the House of M would always execute anybody who failed their mission, and with the bacteria specialist Dr. Gore being killed without any problem that something was not right as it turns out that killing Dr. Gore was not the objective, and Dr. Gore is actually alive as Eliot swapped him for a corpse that looked like him to allow the real Dr. Gore to escape. And then Milo shows himself through the remote-controlled toy robot that Mia was holding as he had been watching Ron's every move and explains what really happened, and then blows up the place to set the auberge on fire, all while Tiger shoots Lily and Sakai in the leg. Luckily, there was an escape route created by the explosion and Toto and Mia brought Lily and Sakai out of the building. But Ron is still trapped, and Toto goes back to get him only for the escape route to be blocked off by falling debris. But Spitz arrives just in time to save the detectives. And this, the show ends with Ron declaring war on the House of M, and in particular the doctor that messed with his brain in order to stop him from becoming a detective. Quite a lot was revealed here as now Ron knows what he's up against, and that his life is his own and not for the House of M to mess with, all while learning that his father wanted him to not go down the path of a criminal.
Final Thoughts
This season was more of the same as the first, albeit with more comprehensive cases and drama with the House of M involved. As with the first season, some of the cases just felt pointless, albeit less so this season than the first. The drama and mystery aspects were well-done once again, all while there was some solid character development as well. That said, the parts involving the House of M got really irritating at times as those guys were not exactly well-written. All things considered, this season is pretty much an extension and continuation of what the first season did and didn't do well.
