I just finished watching episode 153 where some magic knights were promoted for their work during the fight against the midnight eye and the devil. They simply ignored the most deserving one, Asta due to so called parliament. Please tell me they give Asta the recognition he deserve or will they go the Naruto getting no credits for beating Gaara treatment

the protagonist getting no credit is such a massive anime trope that one punch man persistently mocks it, sadly black clover heavily falls into this trope and runs with it for a very long time.

this trope has always confused me because nobody seems to like it yet they still implement it in most shonen, the protagonist could literally save the world and everyone would just forget about it the next day.

one very popular shonen that goes against this trope is bleach, ichigo gets recognition from everybody after his performance in the soul society arc and we constantly hear characters talk about his power.

Everything from eps 130-157 is either filler or anime canon, not manga canon, so they can't do too much that would conflict with the manga canon once it started back up at eps 158.

@Leonzanimelist they do this trope to get the big episode where everybody praises the mc (the episode after beating pain in naruto is a good example). They basically torture us for 100s of episode to overwhelm us with that one episode.

from memory they acknowledge that he sh oi ukd be a higher rank but he doesn't get promoted because of having a devil
