You could try reading "Reverend Insanity" and you'll understand why people in cultivation world fight so often.
Oppurtunities are limited, so are treasures. It takes a lifetime to create one, you could just kill & snatch. Its a dog eat dog world. That's all wuxia is. Going against Heaven's will, absorbing from Heaven & Earth to make yourself strongers when Heaven's Will want to equalize all, is called cultivation.
