I think it’s almost guaranteed he’ll come back there would be no point in Oda setting up his plan and having him still be alive and then just not bring him back

He has the potential to come back.

He's not coming back for a big role imo. He'll likely make appearances in flashbacks since he was a member of the Rocks Pirates and is relevant to the old era, but that's the best y'all can hope for.
