do i need to watch this before season 3

i watched season 1 and i assume(d) that this is filler or at least doesn't matter due to the ending of season 1 or is this important somehow and if so can someone explain so plz?

edit: cool so the end of season 1 was filler well i didn't like season 1 that much and i liked the ending (i didn't know it was filler) so i'm just not gonna watch season 2 or 3 and i'm gonna think as season 1 just as an alternative ending as the end of season 1 i quite liked how it left the characters at the end

I mean this is season 2 so yes. Actually the ending of season 1 was filler. It was originally meant to be an anime original ending, but the anime did better than they thought it would so they decided to make a season 2 following the manga again and acting like the last arc of season 1 didn’t exist since it was filler.

This is S2 and all eps are 100% canon. As for S1, the second half of it is filler so that ending doesn't matter. S2 in manga starts from after S1 ep 17

Season 2 in my opinion is a fair bit better than season 1 so I would watch it before season 3 comes out

I'm not gonna trash you for your opinion and leave like some others, but honestly the manga story is so much better than what the filler one had to offer, when it starts getting further in around season 3 it'll payoff

There's been the case with Black Butler where S1 is mostly filler with a filler ending, S2 is 100% filler and S3 is canon. I get why he asked that question😆
I watched the few canon eps in S1 and then went straight to S3

You stop season 1 after like episode 17 or something and just kinda forget the later Half of episode 17 or at least watch until Rin is supposed to light the 2 candles while not lighting the candle in the middle. Once you’re there just jump into season 2. The first episode is weird but that’s because it’s trying to get you back up to speed
