everyday i look for key words everywhere that could lead me to leaks or announcements of an Off Season anime. i would pay Shaft any amount of money for them to do it. i know Shaft has been struggling in the past few years and that they are probably focusing on other newer works until they can get back on track with stuff like Monogatari or Madoka but i just can't help myself, this is my favorite studio that made some of my favorite shows and i just want them to get back to them, specially Monogatari, my all time favorite.

nah, just that Shaft is not doing so good right now (like almost everyone who worked there quit around 2017 and that is also why Shinbo was the sole director for Zoku Owarimonogatari and since then they seem to be focusing mostly on newer shows and whatever else people ask them to do probably to train their new staff before being comfortable with returning to their older shows, this at least is what i think). iirc we also actually had confirmation years ago that Shaft was gonna animated Off Season (2018 i think) but there have been no words since and i believe it is cause of the state the studio is in and wanting to focus on other franchises to train their new staff as i said before and that Monogatari is probably not the biggest priority rn as based on how it was announced and given a video promo i assume the next Madoka movie is a bigger priority and i like many others believe the best way to know how things will go for Monogatari (in terms of updates about production of an Off Season anime) is to pay attention to any updates on the Madoka movie.


on the other hand... there was a video for i think the 10th anniversary of the anime with the VAs of the characters and there someone said Off Season is "truly impossible to animate" so maybe there won't actually be more anime content for Monogatari.


we don't have anything that could confirm or deny an Off Season anime atm and if we are getting one don't expect it anytime soon as at this rate i think it could even come out near the end of the decade at worst.

oh I know what video you are talking about, the one from 2021, I think that in addition to the 10 years of the anime it was because of the release of "Shinomonogatari" the end of Monster Season, after that another video came out last year, a short of shaft re-adapting some bakemonogatari scenes with the drawing style of the manga, there they showed us some life, I agree that we will hardly see this adaptation soon (the pandemic and its change of personnel have made it very difficult), but if it is "really impossible to animate" I doubt they talked about off season, if the announcement of shaft (which perhaps even today is not valid) was in 2018, and Off Season ended in 2017, they already knew that so many challenges were involved, Monster and Family are another debate
