The first chapter was entertaining, but not much happened. The characters were introduced, their relationships established and the conflicts presented. It could really be summed up as "Itachi climbing the ninja hierarchy to become stronger and stop the war", little else. Still, it's worth pointing out how focused the story is: nothing feels too much and all the events that occur within the chapter add something relevant to the story, which kept me immersed the whole time while reading.
