The long and short of the ending is that Gabimaru and Sagiri find that there is no elixir of immortality so they trick the shogunate with a fake one. Gabimaru lives the rest of his life happily with his lovely wife and some of the other main characters survive too.

Learning this tells you nothing about the content of the story, hardship and journey that the characters live through to get to their destination. You may want to rethink your philosophy on consuming media. Good luck.

Read manga, but basically they discover that the elixir or life is created through tan which is why there are so many flowers on dead people which suck up the nutrience and make the tan, basically the elixir of life I’d not complete and the man bad dudes are trying to create a perfect sample there’s a lot more but there’s a basic.
