The idea of the aliens being viewed as gods and trying to humanize the enemy were two interesting themes the episode tried to tackle, but I feel that in the end it did neither correctly. It just starts off with the evil emperor says "the humans will now think we're Gods!" and it happens right away, they just land in some supper Christian city and BAM the superstitious townspeople already buy it. And the Frankenstein lookalike guy could've been interesting but I feel that he came and went far too fast. He just starts out as evil, sees the kids, and then changes his mind pretty much. Honestly that's what this show feels like up to now, a lot of good ideas but not done to their full potential.

Good episode, one of the better ones so far. The line "we Swiss are always ready for war!" made me giggle though.

Only ONE girl (a child at that) believes what the alien ship tells them, and even she is convinced otherwise fairly quickly. The other townspeople immediately agree with the CBF when they state they're aliens and it was not the voice of God they heard, and they turn their little town into a heavily armed fortress in an instant.

The Frankenstein guy was badly wounded, had his wounds tended to by the children, had the girl, Clara, sing a lullaby to him, then had the kids jumping in front of him blocking Sara's shot when she tried to attack him. We also know the aliens are able to speak and understand whatever language the humans are speaking, so he has heard and understood everything the children said about him. We don't know if he starts out as evil, he started out as a soldier and we don't really see what his personality is like before he meets the children. I feel like you missed the point of the episode: the aliens aren't simply evil monsters, and once they come into contact with humans they are clearly capable of changing their minds about the mission their ruler has given them. He's a soldier who is moved by the fact that human children show him kindness and protect him with their lives, and tries to repay them in kind, which costs him his life.
Beep boop
