Well I mean shirashi isn't literally invisible , people sometimes notice him and would definitely notice him if he carried his brother

It's mostly a metaphor, you're taking it too seriously.
If you reply back to me and I never respond, I lost interest and don't care. Sorry about that.

yeah probably at a glance they see a child floating then they have to look very closely and be like "oh there's a guy holding him"

he's not “Invisible” or anything. It's just about his existence in the environment people couldn't able to notice him. So people think that he's invisible but he ain't

I don't think the invisibilty is to be seen metaphorically.
In the context of the show, he is quite literally invisible or rather unseen.

I mean perhaps people would think about it for a second like “Ehhh that kids floating waaa??” And then after focusing a little bit or closing in to shiraishi’s maybe they’ll see his appearance.

The purpose is still largely metaphorical, regardless of whether it is used as a gimmick, there's no real meaning behind the fact he has so little presence that people can hardly even see him, other than to say he's alienated and doesn't stand out.

I'd say it would depend on angling, environment and how his brother is acting g at the time because if he is referencing his brother on a few occasions den it would make sense for a person to clock that junta is there

I find his invisibility (whether in a metaphorical or literal sense very amusing). I personally believe that part of it is simply cartoon logic. He is so plain, that by cartoon logic, people around him basically erase him out their mind (and by proxy anything that he is holding or carrying). However, there are times that he quite literally seems to turn invisible based on his emotional state or on how still he remains. All his interactions with the store clerk are evidence of that, as there are multiple cases where he is literally in front of her field of view, and she straight up sees past him. The other case can be seen in episode 9 of the series, where he becomes so depressed just from reflecting upon his life up to that point, that he quite literally begins to vanish, even from Kubo’s eyesight.

Part of me wonders up to what degree he could take advantage his invisibility. If someone isn’t paying attention, and Shiraishi decides to grab something laying in front of him, it is very likely that that object would simply look like it's levitating before vanishing into thin air. If he remains quiet enough or doesn’t attract any attention to himself, he could very likely sneak into places that he wouldn’t otherwise be allowed, or even steal things right from below anyone’s noses.

It even helps that technology seems to have a hard time spotting him. The door sensors failed to detect him in episode 2, and while cameras can spot him, even they seem to have a hard time focusing on him, as was the case with Kubo’s phone camera.

Of course, Shiraishi is a good guy, so he never even dares to use his “powers” for any nefarious or selfish goals, as I sort of expected him to do at some point during my first read through of the manga

I would guess that people would recognize that someone is holding a child, but if you asked them to describe the two, the person could describe Junta but would get confused and say "you know, I can't recall the other".

The invisibility cloak would cover his little brother too so he won't be seen either.  Though the whole premise falls apart if you think about it too hard so best not to if you want to enjoy the show.

I guess Junta will be visible too, but passersby, probably, won't notice/won't pay attention to his face.

I don't know what is the logic behind the invisibility. That doesn't make any sense at all.
