Am I the only one who strongly suspects that Kenji is at least bisexual?
The evidence is there - he's seemingly in love with that panther-ish cat who name escapes me.

Being a fan of Kenji's actual written works in addition to Kenji no Haru, I believe that he was indeed of dubious sexuality- for him, I'm sure it was a matter of pure affection. One could also say that he had an almost incestuous fixation with his sister, well-reflected in his poetry, but that would be quite the leap.
