I finished the first 2 episodes and this story is just okay i have heard people say it was good but its so painfully average. Should i drop it if im not enjoying it right now or will this get more interesting.

i think you should drop it, dont even cope to a series you dont enjoy at all, anyways, the whole season was painfully plain and nothing got interesting, which makes my opinion valid.

Yeah, if we consider trio movies as in the episodes. Still, 2 episodes is not enough to judge, for mono.

if you didn't like the first arc then this series probably isn't for you. Monogatari is very arc focused, and they all tend to follow a similar formula. Introduce girl with supernatural problem, get backstory, help girl, repeat. Not saying that this makes the series good or bad, but if you're not into that then it's probably not for you.

you've just watched only 2 episodes of a story packed into ~90 episodes and 4 movies.
I think you should try with next few episodes because it's gonna be a new arc which allows us to meet a new character and it's story

There's a way to deal with this show. Watch episode 3. That episode is in my opinion the turning point of the series, 100% Monogatari essence. After watching that episode decide what to do. I also reccomend you to watch at least the 3 movies (Kizumonogatari) because they're totally different from Bakemonogatari and it's an incredible trilogy, with great story, characters, music, art and animation.
