Question about the new characters in this one...

The characters which appeared for the first time in this like two of Mary's friends weren't there in the Season 1. Is this a spin-off or really a prequel ? If a prequel, then why didn't we see anyone of them except the main student council members ?
Does anyone know anything about it?

this takes place a year before yumeko got into the school in the parent story so maybe some stuff happened or has yet to that we don't know about

The spin-off takes place a year before so I’m guessing that something happens and the student council members are expelled (which I can see a few ways that could happen) as well as her two friends also leave (I’m now sure how that could happen, some theories but they’re too lose) not only that, but by the end of the year something has to happen to change Mary’s character to fit how she was at the start of the first season in the parent story. It’s a bit wonky but I can’t say there’s anything wrong yet

It is most likely a spin off prequel so ye. It's literally all the stuff that happened before Yumeko came in the OG. However, they're still working on it so they'll explain it better later on.

I don't think anyone knows for certain why the new characters in this prequel aren't around anymore, but it is implied in the main show that something really bad happened to Tsuzura after the events of Twin. https://www.reddit.com/r/Kakegurui/comments/ldhzbk/did_something_bad_happen_to_tsuzura_and_yukimi_in/

It's sad how kakegurui twin just have 6 EPs. Leaving us with so many questions. Maybe manga readers know (?)

I was wondering about them too. some of them were third-year and second-year students so I was thinking by the time Jabami was admitted, the 3rd year students were gone and 2nd year students would move up to the next year.

as for Mary's friends and the other first-year students, I have no idea how they will be incorporated into the main story. Cuz in the beginning Mary was kinda alone until she started sticking around with Jabami. So I wonder how it would be.
