I'm confused

I am trying to decide when to watch this film as I like to watch movies in the original release order (ex Star Wars). According to the release dates, I should watch this after episode 390, but the description of this film does not match what is currently happening in Shippuden. Should I wait to watch this film and if so when do I watch it?

I’m pretty sure it takes place right after episode 493. So you can watch it then, or you can watch it at the very end of the show, which would be episode 500. I watched it at the very end, but either way works.

Nonetheless, if you’re at episode 390 right now, you’ve still got a good amount left before you should watch it.

You watch it whenever you hit the episode where there is a time skip. You cannot miss it. Seeing the poster of the movie on MAL is obvious Naruto has changed, so no spoilers came from my comment.

Watch it right after 493 because the events that take place after 493 is after the movie.

You wanna watch it before the Naruto and Hinayana Wedding Arc. The Last basically explains how Naruto fell for Hinata.

You should just watch it when you finished the Naruto series (classic and Shippuden until ep 493) bc it contains some Spoilers of the series and details you otherwise wouldn't understand.
