I personally prefer the sub as the seiyuus did a great job for Light and L, although it depends on your preference.

Friends are nothing more than the people who you spend the fun, yet meaningless times with. When those times get rough, they aren’t there to support you.

I'm a sub watcher...Deathnote was one of my first ever animes...when i started watching anime, i watched my first few animes in dub...but then i switched to sub...Since then i became a sub watcher...So i can say this from a sub watchers perspective who watched the dub version...and i can honestly say that DeathNote is one of the few animes out there that has a really good dub...For deathnote, watch sub or dub. You won't regret watching either of those...Trust me🙂

to be honest I really enjoyed both the dub and the sub version of death note equally.
Death Note really has one of the best dubs in anime.

As a person who switches from sub and dub periodically, I would say that either is enjoyable when it comes to Death Note. A lot of times in dub unfortunately, the English voices won’t be able to portray the emotions correctly and set the proper tone, but this is one of those few things where that’s not the case. The dub sets the tone all the same, the casting is good, and it can be tolerable to even sub watchers. I enjoy the dub just as much as I enjoy sub for this show, which doesn’t happen that often. Idk this is just what I think

The dubbed for death note isn’t that bad compared to the likes of one piece and dragon ballz. If your trying to watch the anime on Netflix or an English streaming platform I would just go with dubbed.

Honestly, this is one of the only animes I will purposely watch dubbed. I feel like if you want a good laugh, it’s something different once you’ve already seen the anime subbed. I also feel like you don’t miss out on too much of the core details. So why not? Also you get to hear light, say the iconic “I’ll take a potato chip and EAT IT” it’s just not the same subbed imo.

Both the dub and sub is really good so it depends on what you prefer. All the dub voices are really close to the original voice acting. Except L’s. I wasn’t a big fan of it first but it grew on me the more I got used to it

I think the dub is excellent. But it's ultimately up to you to decide. I would suggest looking at some clips of the sub as well to see which might be the better voice acting experience for you.

The death note dub is definitely a gem in the anime dub community but it’s not necessary for enjoyment. I’ve watched it in both sub and dub both are impressive but the english dub is something worth watching but not necessary

I almost always watch sub but personally, watching Death Note subbed was making it move way too slowly for me. I switched to the dub around episode 7 and I liked the dub a lot more! The voice acting felt much more original and characterized than that of the sub imo so it was more captivating for me

Both the Dub and Subs are ELITE specimens.The Sub slightly beats the Dub in a photofinish y'know but watching one over the other really won't take you out of the experience.

I've never watched sub because I feel like I can't appreciate the voice acting if I can't understand what they are saying. Also if I wanted to read I would of read the manga.

I personally have only watched Death Note in dub (I'm usually a sub anime water) and let me tell ya, IT'S SO ICONIC IN DUB. You get some of the most quotable lines EVER, it definitely won't disappoint!

Wtf are some of you smoking?! Was there a new dub since the original lol? Or are you all trolling this poor guy and I'm not in on the joke :(

I LOVE dubs, but only when they match the anime. The Death Note English dub is particularly bad. It doesn't suit the anime at all, on top of being a poor job overall (was it rushed for the time?!). I guess it's fine as like a joke to watch, similar to a few other iconic anime with bad dubs.

This is also one of the best anime and stories. You won't get the full intended experience of Death Note with the English dub. To get the full epic experience, it has to be seen in the original JP language- the JP voice acting in this is top tier as well.
