with the violence of like, happy tree friends. i haven't watched it yet, but for those who have, let me know if i'm off base in this assessment

Kinda, but in Tom and jerry, it’s just Tom wanting to catch jerry cause he’s hungry I guess. while in this one jashin-Chan has to kill yurine to return home, and yurine always brutally injures jashin-Chan when she misbehaves, tho this show more slice of life. I say give it a watch, trust me this show is hilarious

It's a fun show with varying degrees of humor, some ppl like it, some hate it. I for one love it and we are getting a third season this year.

That's honestly a pretty great comparison. In both cases, Tom/Scratchy will still chase after the mouse for their own agenda, but it is FAR more one-sided, like with Itchy.

While Jashin-chan is technically the aggressor, Yurine will always brutally defend herself in excessive ways. She could also just attack her because she feels like it. The slapstick comes from the spontaneous and unprompted violence, just like with Itchy and Scratchy.
