Is it because of CGI that it doesn't get much attention??? I think the animation is perfectly done and suits the premise of the story. I think the CGI animation is better than Hoseki no Kuni. It's perfect and better than 2D animation.

Houseki No Kuni is among the best CG in anime ever so you’re going a little far there.

Many people dislike the CGI in Sidonia though and I do think it’s pretty good overall. The weakness in the CGI is the character animation (this is where many CGI shows struggle most). The rest of the CGI is pretty well done though.

Either way, it’s a very good anime and I agree it deserves more attention

Berserk 2016 really fucked up the idea of a successful full CGI anime. Sadly much like video games the average monkey brain normie picks up shows based on the looks or hype and if I remember it was branded as a Netflix anime which turns some people off too for some reason? I think of it not as a hidden gem but like maybe a 10 dollar bill you find in your jacket pocket from last year.

Their are many bad Cgi anime, but there a plenty of good ones too. And examples of really good blending of the two.

The Fate series, Jujutsu Kaisen, Demon Slayer, and Eighty Six have some of the best CGI/Hand-drawn blending I’ve ever seen.

Everything from Studio Orange is incredible quality for full CGI.

This shows how people are not expecting much from full CG Anime. Great show and Im so glad that everything concluded in the movie.

I really dislike CGI but I'm fond of the story of Sidonia.🙂

It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.
