Scoring out of 100

I've scored a number of anime now over quite a few years and occassionally I will go back and reassess some of them to see how I feel after watching a new, good anime and try to gauge where everything should go and every so often a couple of anime scores get moved.

With the recent season of an anime I've found that I cannot fairly place it's score (in my eyes) when compared to another recent anime. On the current scales both would easily deserve 8/10 but realistically one is better than the other without breaking in a 9. With a scale out of 100 I would've put these at around 81 and 88. I think it's a significant enough difference to deserve the extra resolution on the scores (imagine seeing the seeing anime scores and the two choices show 8.1 and 8.8, you would be confident in assuming the 8.8 is a step above).

I can imagine the amount of change this would require as the scores are aggregated so it's more than just changing what us users can enter, and then there'd also be an issue with the current scores everyone's set for their anime being unknown within their 10s values, so I wouldn't expect this change but it would make a lot of difference in my eyes.

MAL will never implement this, so I'd recommend switching to Anilist if this matters enough to you. Also, wouldn't rounding scores make more sense? Like, if a show deserves an 8.8 then you would just round it up to a 9 rather than truncating it down to an 8. A 9 is a more true score for it.

switch to anilist if you care that much...
I would like this change too, but MAL is to me just better then anilist so I don't bother switching

they won't ever implement the change

my preferred system is is out of 100 but i think out of 10 is good enough. as long as MAL never goes down to out of 5 or god forbid even lower then we should be fine. if we could do half points that would be as good as out of 100.
