Why do you guys think that Gakkun ultimately decided to stay as friends with Kenta? I'm having a little bit of trouble understanding his decision.

As I remember, even though Gakkun loved Kenta it wasn't how he imagined to be with him when they lived together. Kenta obviously felt in another way, he managed Gakkun as a very good friend unlike Gakkun who had romantic feelings for him. Of course, Gakkun realised that so he decided to end this fake situation up because it wasn't true. I think he got over Kenta so he could keep staying his friend later. However, in reality I feel it's not easy to forget about someone who you love.
