Recently I finished Zokuowarimonogatari and with it the last of the Monogatari franchise. It was an awesome journey and one in which I wish I could re-experience for the first time all over again. I made a video summing up my thoughts and trying to convey the emptiness that comes after finishing something so unique: https://youtu.be/KoetC5XWS7U

How about you though? Has an anime series ever made you want desperately to have that first experience all over again? Or do you still gain as much out of it on a rewatch?

Yes, I rewatched it and had a huge smile thoroughly. Currently studying Japanese so I can experience Monogatari again.

Yes. Yes. Yes. Monogatari is art, I've rewatched it 3 times already, and experienced the same feelings that I felt the first time I watched it. I have a folder on my pc with every episode of the show + the novels ordered chronologically. I may be a bit obsessed lol

Great video! I dropped a sub as well, so happy to hear you enjoyed the Mono series. I see you're reading the LN's as well, they're a whole new experience and add so much context to the whole cast. Regardless it's pretty wild how well Mono was adapted especially given the fact that Nisio Isin wrote it with the intent that it would be nearly impossible to adapt into an anime.

I desperately wish I could re-experience watching Clannad After Story for the first time; that was the series that opened my eyes to how good anime could be.

Are you an English speaker ? Or multiple languages? Curious as too how daunting it is for someone who only knows a single language

My native language is Portuguese (Brazil). I also know very little Dutch because I lived there when I was younger, but forgot most of it.

I still crave for new season of Monogatari daily. Lol

Anyways, I've heard that there is a continuation after Zoku Owari in novels. Where araragi is in his adult period.

yes, there is the off season, that has various stories that happen through the whole series, and monster season, which has more relevant stories to the plot

I believe that this is the end for the anime at the moment but I do believe that there are still 2 more light novels, one which I can’t remember the name of and two being Monogatari monster season. But as of the anime, yes, Zoku is the end for now at least

Thank you for the very kind words! Reading the novels has been a really fun experience so far and it's crazy to see just how faithful Shaft managed to be in an anime format

I definitely hope we see more anime projects from the series, I'm also equally down bad for Monogatari

Monogatari series was one of those animes that I enjoyed the most. Incredibly unique atmosphere, characters, sekai and events. It's a one lifetime experience that can't be found elsewhere.

I struggled at the beginning trying to find the right order to watch, but that was part of the fun as well. I miss the series tbh, if only there will be a new season so I can rewatch it all once again ^~^

I totally agree, Monogatari definitely stands out when compared to other anime. I really hope we get more!

Re-watch the show in the chronological order I daresay.
It's a different kind of experience.

Finally I managed to see the entire monogatari series and I am ready to move on and forget about this anime. Good bye, good riddance.
Good bye Kuyomin not going to miss you, you closeted monster or your perverted sisters/love interest (Hanekawa/Senshougahara/vampire chick) and specially I'll not going to miss your convoluted time line/story/cash grabs.
May you find peace in Avīci where you belong. Sayonara

If you had so many problems with it, you wouldn’t have bothered to watch one season, much less the whole damn series. I don’t want to hear any excuses either. If I don’t enjoy an anime, I’m not gonna finish it and I’m fairly certain most others are the same. And if that’s really honestly all you got from it, you are not good at getting the point.

Well let me tell you something, I watched this entire train wreck so I would have the high ground and could say anything about this series with out having fan boys like yourself using the same old same old excuses of "did you at least watched it?" "did you saw more than one episode?" yadda, yadda, yadda. So yeah, I saw EVERY single episode, EVERY single "movie" of this dumpster fire of a show.

Oh I got the point, it's you whos trying to find a deeper meaning to this sh!t storm, plain and simple there isn't one, Koyomin is a monster, his sister are in the same league has him, the vamp side of the tale is pathetic, the characters are idiotic, all of them, the "good" guys and the baddies.
The plot is pretentious, convoluted, insipid, tacky, vulgar, pretending to be more than it really is, deep down a failed vampire/monster of the week show.

Like I said I'll not going to be missing this @sshole Koyomin, his perverted sisters, the cash grabs. May you find peace in Avīci.

And how the heck does this give you a high ground? You dodge one objection and immediately get another: "you're just not intelligent enough to understand it." - and that's not something you can argue with, especially after admitting that you watched the entire series for such a stupid reason.

This is why is impossible to talk to fan boys/girls, say anything about certain shows!

If I hadn't seen it you and other would use that in your "argument(s)" against me/my opinion. I saw everything and yes it gives me the high ground/moral high ground to cast my opinion that this anime is garbage beyond words, there is no redemption in this train wreck of a show.

You don't like it, I don't care, facts are facts, this is a failed monster of the week anime that pushes certain deviant behaviors and glamorizes Koyomin and others abnormal behaviors.

The plot is pretentious, convoluted, insipid, tacky, vulgar, pretending to be more than it really is. A Vampire story, badly told o0ne that is.

Fudge off with that b.s somewhere else.

There is nothing in the entire run of the show but s3xual innuendos, some bland vampire story a couple good ideas that goes nowhere sprinkled with a dust of unimaginative blandness.

How can the author fuvck it up so much? You have a new take, a dumb one, at that, on the vampire lore. C'mon the way
, at worst a bad joke on the viewer(s).

s/he had a vamp story to tell, you can't go wrong with vamps! They have it all, it's all right there, the lore goes hundreds of years and yet ... And yet you need something the author lacks, imagination to bring into the screen a good story.

When you do a supernatural anime and you need to be edgy with both your M.C and the sidekick to try to transmit a message, any message you know your show is empty, meaningless and at to the mixture the fact that the author needed to ad some "risky behavior" just to try to wake up people from their slumber you know the show is husk, a festering mess of a husk, that is better left to rot in a field somewhere far, far away.

This show will only be remembered by that particular "dental scene" between siblings.

@Dawizz Truly the most brilliant piece of fiction ever created in human history alongside Frontwing's masterpiece, Island. Only a child touching, Hitler lover would say differently. And that's the bottom line cuz Stone Cold said so.

And only a lib, blm & antifa fentynel "I can't breath" saint floyd lover kiddy fiddler soyboy would consider this pretentious POS anime to be "truly the most brilliant piece of fiction ever created in human history"

And that's the bottom line because I say so.
