Imma be real, I think it really is, I'm currently on Episode 30 and I'm really enjoying it but if you get to the Land of Waves and the first proper fight and don't start enjoying it, I'd just consider dropping it because it probably won't be your cup of tea

Naruto is from a time before the whole seasonal anime thing. It’s not a fixed 24 episodes or 12 episodes where there’s a fixed amount of rise, climax, and ending. It’s a whole story. The first episodes are build up to the world. There’s over 700 episodes so the world needs to be built up so you can understand it.

If is definitely worth it, throughout this series you will experience all the kind of emotions, spoilers might ruin it for new watchers because all the characters and important plot twists are already spoiled so it reduces the enjoyment but there are plenty of things you will discover. The first 20 episodes are kinda boring by the land of waves arc things start to get better, every single arc after is absolutely amazing especially chonen exam and sasuke recovery mission arcs.
You can skip fillers. You might not like og naruto but like shippuden so give it a chance, btw og naruto > shippuden in term of writing so don't sleep on it.

Yes i would definitely recommend watching it. It took me a while to get into it because the first arc is something you appreciate much later on. If you can make it to the next arc then you'll probably become way more invested in it as it introduces so many more characters that you'll grow attached to. Watching Naruto was one of the best choices I ever made because it truly is such a fun experience. The first arc is only like 18 episodes or so which may seem like a lot but if you're starting a series that overall has near 700 episodes then I think you're probably okay with that.

i watched around 50 eps and let me tell you, its not good, cheesy asf, outdated animation, uninteresting characters and overall just boring

If your not hooked after The Land of Waves arc (ends at episode 19) just drop it. Life if too short for boring anime and it'll save you so much time for better shows

It's popular because of it's cool fights and choreography. I never said it was good.

i watched 50 eps and there were no "cool fights", just doing a move and then explaining what that move was and what it did, thats the epitome of the word boring

hxh did overxplain the moves in fights but at least they overexplained after the fight was over not during it

I dropped Naruto once because I still felt like it was mid 20 episodes in. But I tried it out again and got into it by the end of the Land of Waves arc. I would recommend at least finishing that arc since it’s short anyway

Naruto is the farthest thing from slice of life lmao. But I’d say it’s worth a watch. I’m not the biggest fan of Shounen yet Naruto does have a genuine charm to it. Also the way it’s combat is shot is super sleek

Dunno what you deem as interesting, but unlike Death Note and AoT it doesn't have a crazy fast start. The first few episodes are dedicated to character introduction. The first arcs give you a taste of the system and the world. The arcs build on each other and in Shippuuden the main plot turns up for real. Not to say that this part is less eventful, far from it, there's a lot of dope stuff in store for those patient enough. Naruto is pretty rewarding in that regard.

Definitely skip the fillers! When watching The first part of Naruto remember this is when he was a kid. You need to see what he goes through as a kid to understand what happens later. You get to know the characters and by the time you get to Shippuden you’ll be glad you got to know the characters. Give it time :)

funny how this is a post asking for others opinion and you guys are trying to invalidate mine just because I haven't seen 700 eps, "poorly written characters" does not mean naruto is a bad character though he's your generic shounen mc.

Nah it's more pointing out that you can't make a fair judgment on a series that has 700+ episodes by only watching the first 4 which is before the first arc even starts.

It is worth watching tho, is you love anime with a main character that has a long journey, then yeah it is worth watching. Also it has an amazing fight scenes and amazing casts (especially the antagonist)

But make sure you skip filler, cuz it's just bunch of shits that has nothing to do with the main story 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻

Well do you know what? Don't force yourself to see it if you don't want to .......

It is not overhyped just because of it's fights or story, but imo what makes it special is its strong and relatable characters, not relatable due to the events happened with them in their pasts but just because the way they approach their lives and commit few mistakes only to realise that the path they have chosen was not for the sake of good and then the character development of Naruto!!! That's the thing which kept me pushing to watch this whole series even with it's fillers and it is not boring except few fillers and once you will start understanding the story, you might able to visualise them quiet well and the dialogues and the life lessons are the gems of this whole anime

It is popular and overhyped due to some reasons only, a 8/10 anime for me anyday, the negative points are it's too many fillers and boring pace in few arcs

OVERALL, IT IS DEFINITELY A WORTH WATCHING ANIME........
BTW I JUST COMPLETED SHIPPUDEN LAST MONTH

50 episodes in had Rock lee vs Gaara, which is the most iconic fight in anime history. Shippuden has plenty of top tier fights which you can feel free to watch since you dropped it I'm guessing.

First off you can’t judge naruto after 4 episodes. Thats fucking retarded. That being said hxh is way better than naruto. Watch naruto first and then hxh.

Srsly,just keep going.I felt the same way too.The first arc starts from ep 6-7 actually,with all the fighting and stuff.Also,skip any and all fillers.I've seen many say they'll watch the fillers too,grow bored and drop the show.OG Naruto ends at ep 135 (and second half of ep 140) then go to Shippuden

Not worth it. Naruto 2002 was somewhat okay but shippuden is utter waste of time. Same as dragon ball where one friend always tries to save the world and help his other friend, who becomes a hero even after committing all misdeeds
