2nd half is a lot better than first

I felt like the first half and second half were two different shows in terms of direction. The first half is like typical shonen anime with all the cliché (cliché can be enjoyable if done right, but Garo didn't). However, the second half is ten times better than the first.
Then again, not everybody can watch 12 eps of lesser quality even if things get better further. But if you are dropping the show because of earlier eps, wait, you may like the latter eps.

You are absolutely right. Just watched it and it gets much better later on

I was just thinking the same thing 😂😂😂 I even went to AnimeNewsNetwrok and checked the staff for each episode and, lo and behold, almost none of the staff that Directed and Storyboarded the seconde half are in the first half. Hayashi himself, in addition to directing the Show, Directed and Storyboarded the finale (He also did the same for Ep1). Also, Episode 18 and 17 were both Directed and Storyboarded by one or two animator each; Ep18 was Storyboarded and Directed by Sung-Hoo Park, and Ep17 was Storyboarded by Pyeon-Gang Ho and directed by Pyeon-Gang Ho and Eri Nagata) which is obviously the reason they looked so great and crisp and just all-around better than the usual episodes. And their is no need to even mention the drastic improvement in writing, because it obviously felt like an entirely different show. So yea, this show is giving me the mother of all migraines since on episode 12 I was set on giving it a 6/10 rating, but after binge watching from 13 to 18, I now want to give it a 7/10 rating that may go up to 8/10 depending on the last 6 episodes. Ahhhhhh but they were HORRIBLE first 12 episodes!!!!!
