i watched this movie right after ep 56 and man with the widescreen view and the amazing animation, it was great. i heard it was the 1st serious arc in the series, this movie made me love the series even more. and i have doubt. is this movie [Gintama: Yorinuki Gintama-san on Theater 2D] manga canon ? or just a filler.

Even filler are good in Gintama, I wouldn’t skip the few fillers of this series

Gintama: Yorinuki Gintama-san on Theater 2D is just a theater version of later arcs in the series.

Gintama Movie 2: Be Forever Yorozuya is a CANON Movie. This movie was released to end the Series but then they continued the series anyway.
