I liked the novel as a whole. Since Mei Misaki was at the center of events, and Teruya Sakaki proved to be such a mysterious protagonist. I also loved the depiction of the manor as a singular place, unique in the story. Also the concept of a ghost in the Another universe serves to imagine what occurred with the main storyline events, or how felt the ghost of the brother of Misaki.
I loved it and was totally engrossed in the somber bleak atmosphere of it, being a sucker for ghost stories. Enjoyed the genral ambience of it even much more so than the original novel. The big climactic reveal was a bit of a turn-off for me, as it was also in the original novel, but this one grew on me more so than the reveal of the original after the Outroduction chapter did a nice job of wrapping everything up into a pleasantly bleak little black package to fit in with the mood of the majority of the novel which I so enjoyed sinking deeply into.
Overall really nice ethereal read, I'll likely be getting into 'Another 2001' soon enough.

@gannoncannon55 OH GOD I FORGOT ABOUT ANOTHER 2001
I need to read this!!! And thanks for your reply, this word, "ethereal", really defines something about literature I feel like, something profoundly using speech to refer to things that can be more abstract, at the cost of a loss of sensory input from like manga. Having supernatural protagonists with different corporal existences is awesome.
