Apparently that's why the scanlators decided to drop it. Can anyone shed some light on this if it's true?

Someone translated the chapter. You can find it if you know where to look. No I don't believe it's homophobic. The original scanlator overreacted.



Now, usually without any context that sounds bad. But, it's Franken Fran. It's always been fucked up. It has satirized cannibalism, rape, incest (I think), wealth, jealousy, superficiality, plastic surgery, cloning, religion, war, and a ton of other taboo things (so many that I can't remember them all) in the most absurd, graphic, & edgy ways. I don't think think the author was critiquing homosexuality, but more so the warped view that otakus have of sexuality because their worldview is shaped from something fake and often idealized like in yaoi.

It would be like someone having an idealized worldview of sex from watching Pornhub all the time.

Judging by this
the original scanlators are Trump supporters, so I doubt supposed homophoby is their concern, the whole chapter looks more like a parody of fringe\outdated theories of same sex attraction that culminates in Fran adding chemicals to water to turn male students gay, so probably such disrespectful handling of their beleifs is what triggered them.

Bullshit, whoever interprets that chapter as homophobic has to wake up. It even goes further into how homosexuality exists for almost every lifeform (of course the last part of the explanation is just Franken being brainwashed), basically making it more natural than what dumbasses think. But even then, that doesn't mean it's any different than heterosexuality, it can also has its ugliness to it aswell, but in Franken Fran, who the fuck can interpret the usual absurdity as being a homophobic message?
