There rankings constantly show One Piece being second before Boruto... Do you mind sharing an opinion about it?
I think it's worth asking about Manga Plus because it's the official source... Since in a lot of other sites the One Piece Ranking dropped after Manga Plus launched
[?] If you don't read Spy x Family feel welcomed to post other manga you think are better...
[?] To be honest didn't check if other manga still get alternative translations for otherJump Manga ... The only one I'm eager to read as soon as possible is One Piece... And re-read later cause comparison is a good exercise... and they say it's a good, free way to support Oda-sensei...
Até mais ver

EDIT:
Probably I should address Kimetsu no Yaiba that while was still running used to get the 1st place (with Boruto in 2nd and One Piece in 3rd) and nowadays still is devouring the Oricon rankings in Japan...
Lots of specialists enlist the Ufotable anime, the catch OP and ED themes and the "unquestionable" quality of it's story...
But a recent video listed a very interesting piece of info (In brazilian portuguese):
The short answer: It's all about bursting the bubble
The long answer: Non-otaku that at first were baited by Ufotable adaptation but got invested for very simple reasons (stated in bold)... everything else it's my own conjectures making sense of it...
- It's a very SIMPLE story, that do every basic right. The Kamado siblings are good, it's easier to empathy with their situation. Muzan is bad, with no redeemable qualities, all his followers or fear him, he is stong or follow him just because whatever they don't care, they are demons. The heroes win, the villains lose. People fight, some of them die, some thrive on. There's no plot twists. With a clear and predictable ending and therefore imune to spoilers. It has reread value cause you will read even if you know how it ends... I read a lot, I like mysteries and dislike spoilers... this casual idea is pretty alien to me.
- When you are an adult it's good to have an topic to bond with your children... Since the themes in Kimetsu are easy to understand and follow and don't need very complicated theories to follow (even when the idea that the demon transformation could be older than Muzan, or originated from other countries being very popular[1]). I follow lots of channels about anime and manga with all sorts of theories and discussions but I can appreciate the urge to find people that can separate time to talk with a SLOW LEARNER like myself...
- A very efficient use of japanese language/Kanji. Since it's situated in an older period of Japan it's easier to accomplish... I think it's a very similar time period to Rurouni Kenshin? Very little to no foreign words with long strings of katakana... No gatlings, gears, punk hazards, voltstandings...
And here something that fascinated me... Imagine a hypothetic situation where people laugh at you cause you because you didn't know what a Mangekyou Sharingan is... it doesn't exist in real life and the kanji read as 万華鏡写輪眼. You know what a kaleidoscope is 万華鏡, you know what a copy is 写, what a wheel is 輪 and what an eye is 眼... you put everything together and get nothing... Remember Non-Otaku with little suspension of disbelief, that put an effort into learn about it and asks but instead of a reasonable Naruto fan that could try to explain how it works (without laughing) you get a Narutard that readily says you shouldn't be reading his/her favorite manga... The Narutard is your son/daughter... The chances are 50-50?
My favourite still is one from Bleach 聖哭螳螂 has the kanji for saint 聖, the kanji for cry/lament 哭 two different kanji that read as praying mantis the old chinese one 螳 the modern more japanese one 螂 and the whole thing is read as "Santa Teresa"... classic Nnoitra Gilga... try to get in the first try his name starts with Nn when the katakana is a simple ノ. If I remember correctly all oficially romanizations are listed in a separated databook... Nowadays in the wiki, but still it takes an effort...
I used the most iconic examples I know but probably a lot of cool shounen manga like to create knew words by rearranging kanji that normally doesn't mingle together... Starting to like manga as a old man or old lady isn't a very easy enterprise...
I didn't proofed it but the video claimed that all the techniques in Kimetsu are very simple... you read the kanji and understands what it does... wind cuts, fire burns, water thrashes with very high pressure...
As the art is, the non-otaku read very few manga so they aren't familiarized with very exquisite paneling or very incredible artwork they identify who is who and follow the story just fine...
[1] Possibilities that the manga kinda crossed out when it stated that Muzan was the very first demon and killed the guy that transformed him... As convenient as it sounds the guy became the very first demon by sheer accident. Although if Gotouge-sensei returns one day it's very easy to retcon... Muzan died but his cure was really out of Japan or lost in very cryptic text that could be read in sunlight or whatever... like the blue spider orchid...
Shiroyaki said: But if I were you you wouldn't take that ranking seriously.
I understand that complaining about it is childish and the ranking I mentioned is a very general gathering and in no way is the whole truth... It's just that for several weeks I read a very exciting chapter of One Piece and everytime Boruto was still there first in the list... It just felt wrong...
Thank you very much for your reply...
I think I even read somewhere that Boruto's writing was so appaling that Kishimoto-sensei would assume from the next arc... Although Ikemoto will continue the art...
I read first in the clickbaiters but I think Anime News Network should be reliable enough... EDIT: It properly says it was planned from the very beginning but I just misread it as the usual "the moment something goes wrong I take over..."
I'm just being childish and malicious... I'm sorry...
Nah, the manga is not a hit but it doesn't suck that much (like the anime) either. He probably regained possession of his creature because his new manga Samurai 8 ended after only 5 volumes, when he previously said he had ideas to keep it going for at least 10.
Yep Samurai 8 happened... I'm still pushing it forward in my deflation list, cause more interesting covers and sinopses happen everyday...
In another note... Hope the artist (Ookubo Akira) gets a new chance in the future too...
