I am pretty sure SAlter's armor can dematerialize just like regular Saber's. In HF2 she appears without the armor just before fighting Berserker. Also in Hollow Ataraxia she appears with the armor on, but later she unequips it, so would say it's just a matter of SAlter's personality. As for your question; well, these armors are basically condensed magical energy, and there is not much details about them. One thing we know is that SAlter's is heavier than regular Saber's, that's why SAlter's Endurance increases while her Agility decreases. You could say that SAlter's is stronger beacuse she has higher Endurance, but that's not the only thing that affects it, so tbh answering this is almost impossible. I hope this helped a little. |

It is extremely strong to the point that Shirou initially assumes that it is his main Noble Phantasm. It is durable enough to block numerous strong blows from Saber simply by protecting his head with his hands. He eventually stops playing around despite his armor not being in any danger of giving out to her attacks.[36] Shirou believes she would have been able to slash through it if she were to relaunch her barrage of attacks. He claims that he does not need it while playing around, and that it is only crucial for guarding against evil spirits like petrifying serpents, due to it being anti-petrification equipment, and gigantic bulls.[37] |
| Which is better? They both defend against attacks well enough. Presumably Saber Alters would be better against blunt trauma since it's canonically stated the armour raises her defense with the cost of speed. Gil's also gives him magic resistance and deters curses/charms. Basically, they're both good so doesn't matter. |
