| The 1st season of Re:Zero followed and covered (almost) 9 complete volumes of the Light Novel. The second season will cover from the end of 9th volume onwards. So, is this movie a Spin-off, a filler, or is it adapted from an advanced point in story telling this flashback? in this case, which volume of the Light Novel or chapter of Web Novel? |

| It will adapt the prequel novel "Hyouketsu no Kizuna" which was included in the first Blu-ray and DVD volume of the TV series. Also, season 2 will adapt the rest of volume 9 up until volume 15, so about 6 volumes |

Its interesting the LN's author made a inedit prequel just following the anime, introducing new material not knowed even by the Novel readers, when the main story was already very advanced in the books. It is amazing when an anime viewer can be the first one to know a story and spoil it to novel readers. Ah, the sweet taste of vengeance |
