| I think Key The Metal Idol has a plot-point like this. I haven't watched it yet, but it has a solid opening, and great atmosphere from what I've seen. EDIT: Just checked. Yes, the protagonist is a robot who wants to become a human. Seems to be exactly what you're looking for OP. It's also one of those old-school anime where all the music was redone in English for the dub, so if you like that vibe, you should check it out. I didn't finish the series myself (too much feels) so I didn't find out but she seemed to try to understand human concepts of love and such plus being part machine so I figured maybe OP might like it |

The show pretty much made me cry, really weak at these kind of shows haha Thank you. Yeah I really loved the animation but it was just so sad I couldn't continue. I'm pretty weak at these too XD |
