| THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER. ---------------------------------------- Yumi Unita really walked a fine line with this manga, and in that respect it reminds me of her other work Bunny Drop. She still decides to be spirited away, but delays it so she can better prepare herself to be a sleep spirit in the future. What gets me is her attitude towards her human life. A more traditional story would have her learn that she needs to be the force of change to better her family, but Yoneko notes that her loneliness was real in her house. She chooses duty over self, but there are so many implications this ending can raise, that I feel it's best not to look too deep. |
