Like seriously? It doesn't really end on a cliffhanger, it ends on a note that implies Oreki is self aware of his nature to not make big commitments in life. He is also aware at this stage in his life that he's not mature enough for a serious relationship as well. That's what I got from the ending, and I thought it was a perfectly fine place to end. There weren't any loose ends that needed tying, it just hinted at a future that might be and coming to a realization that that future isn't within reach quite yet.

Let me know your thoughts on this ending. Please feel free to share why you agree or disagree with me on this.

The ending was kinda frustrating for me cos we never clearly got to see how Satoshi and Mayaka's relationship issue got resolved and the fact that Oreki and Chitanda never progressed further in terms of romance. After developing their relationship for like the entire anime its kind of disappointing that we dont get to see it come to fruition. Romance isnt the focus of this anime but its impossible to not ship them together. That said, all the problems would be solved if we got a second season...

No, I'm fine with the ending too. The last episode is simply beautiful, but it gave the feeling ''we need something more''. I just want more of Hyouka because I love this anime. Also, I really want to see the continuation of Oreki and Chitanda romance.

You aren’t the only I was perfectly satisfied with the ending usually I get sad when I finish an anime but this was so good I was pretty happy how it ended.

I thought the finale was amazing as well, there wasn’t any over the top “final boss” to defeat. It was very gentle and focused on all the characters and fleshed out what they became as well as build a foundation as to who they will become in the future. 10/10 show blew my ‘expectations’ away, no pun intended

I think people aren't satisfied because they wanted Oreki to confess to Chitanda. I liked hyouka for its slice of life with a touch of mystery in it so I was fine with the ending thought I do want a second season just to enjoy the journey agai..

1) The source material is not yet finished.
2) Satoshi is still a psycho mf.

But because the Slave is in that despairing situation, having nothing, it can kill the Emperor !"
