Kagura is my favorite character of any anime/manga out there. So naturally she's #1 on this list too.
Kagura is so awesome, unconventional, cute, inspiring, badass, hilarious... The list just goes on and on. I'm so glad that Gintama's heroine isn't the typical fanservice chick.
I was recently rewatching Gintama and I came to episode 32, which was the last episode of that little arc where Gintoki forgets everything and the Yorozuya disbands. After Gintoki left them and Shinpachi mostly gave up on it, it was KAGURA that said that she would never let it go. She was gonna camp out in the ruins of the Yorozuya house with her mountain of sukonbu till the day Gintoki came home and there was no way she would be convinced otherwise. She said she just knew that they would all be together till the day they die. See, it's Kagura who was always the most devoted to the Yorozuya! =D
Next would have to be Otae, I think. It's just hilarious to me how she manages to be so... Ominous sometimes. It's like, when she gets really pissed... You're DEAD. As she said in the most recent manga chapter... She'll teach people the meaning of fear. >_>;
Tama is 3rd. Probably at least partially because the Fuyou Arc has to be one of my most favorite... Ever. The Tama Quest Arc is also great. And I like how her weapon is that mop thing. I mean, talk about unconventional. This even beats Kagura's use of an umbrella as a weapon. Seriously, this mop thing doubles as a flamethrower. >_> But yeah, I like the fact that even a robot has the samurai spirit. A soul that will not break. I never thought a robot could be inspiring, but Tama proved me wrong.
Tsukuyo is 4th. I like how her pipe is, in her own words, "brand name bitch." And I think it's ironic that even though she lives in Yoshiwara, she gets so embarrassed when Gintoki accidently touches her boobs (happened twice now I'm pretty sure). I don't like to pair her with Gintoki though, because I don't like to pair anyone in Gintama.
However, it seems that recently Kyuubei hasn't done much other than stalk Otae... And I don't really like that. She was much more awesome before, when she was introduced.
I have to say that Sa-chan is at the bottom of the list. Her character is completely one-dimensional. At least Kondo has more sides to him than just the whole stalking thing (which is especially expanded on during the Itou Arc). But Sa-chan only knows how to like... Kill, and obsess over Gin. There's just not a whole lot there. Actually no. Usually she can't kill because she lost her glasses, or Gin's around. Or both. So yeah, she's not even all that badass. She's probably my least favorite Gintama character, honestly... I don't exactly hate her, but she's not entertaining at all.
Oh hey, this list has both my most favorite and least favorite Gintama characters on it, isn't that something? |
